Job Description

Our Digital and IT team plays an integral role in accelerating this exciting journey.

Data Chapter Lead role is a key leadership team member located onsite within Takeda’s technology delivery center in Bratislava, Slovakia. The technology delivery center executes the delivery of solutions based on project, as prioritized in the portfolio management process or via as a product driven organization following Scaled Agile framework. IT technology center safeguards organization-wide standards and technology building blocks, and collaborates with Business Technology Analysts (BTA’s) and Product Owners (POs) on execution of delivery.

Key objective :

The Data chapter lead is responsible to execute demand coming from Takeda business after validation, prioritization and budget are clearly defined by the IT Business partner. He will advise about timeline, effort and complexity to prepare the PODs resources to be mobilized from the data pool team. He will monitor and report back the progress of data resources involved and create a structure to track time, quality and service engagements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Describe the primary duties and responsibilities of the job. Include only the essential functions of the job. Approximately 5 – 10 bulleted task statements should be identified).

Chapter Development

Provide the vision and lead Data resource pool chapter capability
Define clearly different capability with a clear and harmonized set of roles and skill per individual
Track the progress of each individual according to data curriculum required to deliver the Takeda portfolio
Lead the chapter as practitioner equivalence excellence to be a role model to the cohort
Identify chapter members to serve as player coaches, providing training and oversight on their execution of people management responsibilities
Outstanding team member within a POD

By exception step in participating into a POD, to kick-off the dynamic and ceremonies as a team member, acting as a reference and expert in their specialty. Lead by example.
Always ensure Data resources involved use their expertise to deploy better solutions that are aligned with the POD’s backlog and OKR
Emphasize and safeguard POD efforts on tasks are managed and prioritized by the Product Owner
Resource Allocation and Staffing

Coordinate with Division Leads and PODs to staff chapter members to PODs
Assess and manage capacity conflicts between the different PODs
Assess and balance the needs of the PODs with people development goals
Performance Evaluations

Oversee collection of formative and evaluative feedback from each chapter member’s network of professional connections
Oversee delivery of performance evaluations for chapter members, factoring in individual contributions and collective POD performance
Talent Development

Set targets for development and growth and complete final assessment of Chapter employees in professional development, in alignment with the functional lead.
Recruit top talent and onboard candidates, working with HR to define roles and conduct interviews
Lead talent development and retention initiatives, including provisioning of training, sharing of best practices, and initiatives to promote a culture of continuous improvement
Agile Portfolio Services

Enable transition into agile portfolio management through carefully considered approach to portfolio governance in the agile context
Coaching teams that work on inter-related workstreams to enable coordinated and timely delivery of large systems outcomes
Defining, measuring and continuously improving on the KPIs for agile delivery at product, program, value streams portfolio levels to ensure success at the enterprise level
Data Team Development objectives :

The Data chapter lead is responsible for delivery organization readiness, involving right capability and when create the path to close gaps when required agile coaches and scrum master capabilities within the product organization. They guide individuals within their chapter to build the appropriate skills and capabilities needed for successful adoption of agile principles and practices. They are focused on creating high performing teams across the product and technology enablement organizations.

Key duties:

Develop chapter members to acquire and grow the skills and capabilities needed for efficient and effective adoption of agile principles and practices.
Set up interaction and knowledge sharing processes among Chapter employees in different product teams.
Participate in solving complex process challenges that require the highest competency level as an expert with consultation with the product organization.
Set targets for development and growth and complete final assessment of Chapter employees in professional development.
Prepare decisions to hire/dismiss Chapter employees in consultation with Product Owners.
Resolve organizational issues of keeping the Chapter members at work and meeting product demand.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Primary location to be located onsite within the TCC in Bratislava
10+ years exposure and experience working in iterative or agile like environment
Required: Bachelor’s degree in related technical field
Desirable: Ability to communicate in Slovak language
Experience in fast-paced Agile environments as a Squad member is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to partner with a Planning organization and/or a Product Owners in designing and delivering the design and continuous management of the agile enterprise backlog
Experience in providing leadership for a scaled agile portfolio using LeSS or SaFE etc. methodology is highly desirable
Passionate about change and continuous improvement; willing to challenge status quo and dissent when needed, and not afraid to point out areas of development.
Strong working knowledge of business support processes/capabilities and technology needs; experience managing across in-house and outsourced projects
Excellent leadership skills and abilities, strategic planning, effecting change, building and leading strong technology teams, and resource management; a track record of success in developing technology leaders and staff.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; highly collaborative working style, strong interpersonal capabilities and relationship building; proven ability to manage diverse client and stakeholder relationships, and to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues
Excellent influence and negotiation skills; ability to facilitate discussions around complex issues and bring them to resolution
Excellent written and verbal English skills with ability to present ideas in a business and user-friendly language
Previous experience in PMO practices and demonstrated ability to provide governance oversight for a portfolio of initiatives with ability to communicate status of work to stakeholders is essential
Ability to adapt to continually changing priorities and aggressive project time frames
Scrum Master certification (or equivalent) is a plus
