As part of the Mondelēz International Business Services division, you have global responsibility for a specific discipline that may include partnering with leaders in sales, finance, marketing, customer service and logistics, procurement, HR, etc. You lead a team that delivers best-in-class service and value creation to their clients and that always strives for operational excellence.

You will work with others, including C-Suite and other senior personnel, to define the experience direction. In addition, you will design and re-engineer processes to ensure customer-focused delivery of services and ensure that value is delivered by using performance metrics and analysis.

The IBS Data Governance Lead is a member of the Data Management (DM) Leadership Team and of the newly formed Mondelēz Enterprise Data Council. S/he leads data governance across the enterprise, ensuring high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, accuracy, completeness, consistency, and privacy. This individual is responsible for standardizing data naming, establishing consistent definitions, monitoring/auditing the data quality, and executing cleansing and policy agreements. He/her focuses on business benefits, fosters the goal of data re-use, helps create and manage and uphold governance agreements and articulates the strategic significance of information to the organization. This role will be part of the Global Information Business Service team and will have a strong collaboration and influence on business data domain owners and experts across the different functions and BUs. The role has a high level of visibility and responsibility ensuring our account data is clean and trusted. The successful candidate will directly supervise a team of 20+ people and collaborate closely with the Mondelēz resources related to Enterprise data solutions architecture and technology. This position a 2nd line of defense role (2LOD) in the Data Management organization (1LOD). It is critical to the sustainable reduction of risk for and the success of the Data Transformation program.

Detailed role responsibilities include:
  • Lead and manage the organization-wide data governance activities to improve the quality, increase the enterprise value and manage the protection of sensitive data and information assets across the enterprise.
  • Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behaviors, policies and standards, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture principles
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets
  • Lead the development of Global Data rules and quality metrics in partnership with Data Stewards, Domain SME’s, and stakeholder groups across Mondelez
  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
  • Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of data enterprise assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness

Personality requirements and skills

  • Strong strategic skills with the ability to anticipate business opportunities, think broadly when confronting issues, and lead change initiatives
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills with high levels of emotional intelligence
  • 10+ years Data Management / Data Domains experience in IT and business functions, ideally in the consumer goods industry
  • Proven experience developing and executing successful data governance strategies that deliver sustainable earnings and a competitive advantage.
  • Expert knowledge of data quality and goverance standards coupled with experience at systemazing them in IT governace solutions.
  • Proven experience with Data Quality and Data Management tools, such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, DEMS among others
  • Experienced at identifying and evaluating innovative data technology companies and leading negotiations to conclude partnerships and/or alliances.
  • Familiar operating in large and complex multi-national organizations to create alignment for her/his strategic priorities across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Degree in Data Management, IT, Computer Science or equivalent
  • DAMA certifications and SAP S/4 knowledge a plus
