Job description, responsibilities and duties
As JAVA applications engineer in the Finco3 team you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our Java client and Oracle DB based application in close cooperation with our business analysts. Beside engineering work, you will be supporting the team in daily operations tasks and support our business users whenever needed.
Main tasks and activities:
• Create technical concepts out of business concepts and ideas
• Develop business features according to technical- and business concepts
• Keep underlying application tech-stack up-to-date
• Implement unit tests for automated component testing
• Perform code reviews
• Testing of technical changes implemented by other application engineers
• Root cause analysis and bug-fixing of reported issues
• Contribute to the operations of application interfaces to the various in/outbound systems
• Support quarterly closings and data deliverables from an engineering point of view
• Refactor of existing application as preparation for re-platforming initiative
• Ensure compliance with DevSecOps and corporate governance processes

Personality requirements and skills
• Good Java development skills with 2-3 years of experience
• Knowledge of relational Databases and SQL, preferably on Oracle
• Fluent in both spoken and written english
• Test driven development: experience in writing unit tests and end to end integration tests
• Experience working in a DevOps team
• Work with CI/CD for integration and deployment: experience in automated build, test & deploy with Azure Pipelines
Following skills would be a plus:
• Experience in Web Development, preferably Angular 2+
• Knowledge in micro services implementation with Spring Boot
• Experience with messaging and stream processing architectures built on Kafka
• Experience in Informatica PowerCenter or Azure Data Factory
