Network Security Architect (Hybrid setup)

Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As the Security Architect, you'll be tasked with defining the security boundaries – along with architectural blueprints and processes – for our cloud setup and supervising security concepts for various digital solutions used in Swiss Re. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.


About the team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, and risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the Security Advisors team shapes the security of Swiss Re's infrastructure and network security domain and is the unit of choice for security-related guidance on any IT project in the company. We're looking for an expert architect who is familiar with security concepts and practices. 


In your role, you will…

•    Develop practical and versatile security requirements, architectural blueprints, and processes for the application and solution landscape in our public cloud environment
•    Advance technical and organisational security competences and adopt to emerging security trends (leading proof of concepts, for instance)
•    Review, advise on and approve security concepts for a variety of digital solutions across Swiss Re's business landscape
•    Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers inside Swiss Re's architecture and engineering teams

Your qualifications

•    What we need from you
o    Significant knowledge of major cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and standard methods as well as willingness to dive into new areas
o    Can-do attitude with proactive approach toward challenges, producing tangible results
o    Deep expertise within several of the following cybersecurity technologies:
    Next Generation Firewalls
    Web Application Firewalls
    Software-Defined Networking
    Micro segmentation
    Public Cloud Networking
    Security Service Edge/Zero-Trust Network Architecture
o    Familiarity with the implications of security standards in regulated environments 
o    Solid grasp of existing application and service development, familiar with agile engineering processes and the security challenges that come with it
o    Feeling comfortable with leading sophisticated conversations across multiple partners in an instructive and mediating way
o    Ability to communicate in a clear, empathetic, and solution-focused manner and to independently create appropriate documentation

•    Nice-to-have
o    Microsoft, CISSP, CCSP, SANS GIAC and network security vendor-specific certifications
