The main responsibilities of the External Reinsurance Accountant role are:
Calculate, account, bill and drive collections for significant payables and receivables under detailed reinsurance contracts
Work with external clients and SR claims depth to substantiate and collect on balances due.
Create required financial, regulatory and management reports
Participate in process development and improvement projects
About the Team
The External Reinsurance Team is a dynamic team that owns and manages the External Reinsurance portfolio globally for Corporate Solutions. We are part of the Global Controlling Finance Corporate Solutions team under International Financial Management (IFM) and Reinsurance. Our team reviews inwards transactions and identifies, calculates, books, reports and collects the reinsurance asset. We work extensively with Swiss Re clients and brokers to substantiate our claims and to build productive relationships. We are involved in setting up new contracts as well as working on some International transactions and are heavily involved in the financial reporting for the CorSo retro asset. Beyond retro, External Reinsurance is involved in Federal Excise Tax reporting and collateral acquisition.

2-5 years' experience in a detailed finance or accounting role
Reinsurance/insurance accounting experience strongly preferred
Solid understanding of Microsoft Office products - Excel required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with energy, initiative and strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced global team environment
University degree preferred
