About the Role
As a senior backend developerengineer, you will be part of a team catering for apps for our core contract processes, working side-by-side with our business analysts, data engineers and other technology professionals. You will be fully engaged in a classic agile setup with designers, frontend developers, and backend developersengineers, cloud engineers as well as product and technical owners and cloud engineers.
In your role you are responsible for:
-Backend engineeringDevelopment of new applications together with the team
-Continuous improvement and maintenance of existing applications
-Support in sSolution dDesign
-Defining/improving best practices for building, testing and deploying of applications

Our team is at the forefront of analytics for Reinsurance. We build analytical products that focus a wide range of topics from Contract Wording to Natural Catastrophes, enabling the company to accurately manage our risks.

Personality requirements and skills
Key skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
-3+ years of experience with Java and Java Spring Boot, Docker
-Experience with reactive programming paradigm
-Experience with relational and document-based database management systems such as PostreSQL and MongoDB
-Knowledge of microservices architecture and its principles
-Experience with RESTful APIs
-Good communication, and good command of English (knowledge of German is an asset)
-Enjoy teamwork with the ability to work responsibly, self-reliant and result-oriented
-Experience with Python or Kotlin is a plus
-Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) is a plus
-Cloud Services: In-depth knowledge of the Azure cloud platform is a plus
Analytical: You are eager to learn, like to analyse and solve technical challenges
Team orientation: You are a good team-player
Flexibility: You can deal with changes and keep improving things through creativity and innovation
