About the Role

This role is a combination of the worlds of underwriting and client interaction – two highly demanding business areas that require a flexible approach.

Our new colleague should be an experienced Facultative Casualty Underwriter for the Central and Eastern European and Nordic markets. You will be an integrated member of a facultative underwriting team and your job will entail assessing, underwriting and developing facultative business. Part of your role will be communicating with clients, whilst at the same time handling the portfolios and submissions within your area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities:

- Originating, analyzing, pricing and underwriting of facultative risks
- Assessing a variety of individual risks and related volatility, by utilizing data research and rating models
- Building personal relationships with clients and brokers and creating innovative solutions for our clients
- Cooperation across different lines of business and cross-functional teams
- Interaction with client managers, market underwriters and treaty underwriters

Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

You are an outstanding teammate who can work independently and has already shown that you can build and sustain a profitable book of business.

You are an open-minded, trustworthy and enthusiastic individual that is curious to continuously learn and last but not least you are attracted by working in an international environment.

Essentials:

- You have 3 to 5 years of experience as an underwriter in the insurance industry
- You see yourself as a sales person and dealmaker with in-depth technical underwriting skills.
- You have experience in at least one of the regions in Central Eastern Europe or the Nordics
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, additional languages are a plus
