About the Department

Swiss Re Asset Management manages the assets generated through the core insurance and reinsurance business.

Asset Management IT is part of Asset Management and ensures stable investment platforms and trade lifecycle management while delivering meaningful, correct and timely financial data, enabling our customers to support AM's overall business performance.

About the Team (we are called Markit squad)

Our motto is: "Markit. Data. Raw or Golden. Trusted and timely" We are globally dispersed team of 18, best mix of internals, externals, diverse culture backgrounds. We partner with our business clients to support their activities.

It includes generation of security master golden copy as well as providing credit ratings, prices and other market data related datasets. We do support teams through workflows and data maintenance processes, delivered to users and downstream systems on time.

About the Role

As a Business analyst in Markit, you'll work on business and data driven initiatives centered around our platform. Business analyst supports Markit EDM platform by analysing data discrepancies through mastering market data vendors offering and datasets down to writing crystal clear specifications. Your hands and mind work with market data (instruments, pricing) as well as static data (portfolios, accounts...). We build and maintain trusted relationships with internal customers by understanding their business process as well as issues and challenges.

We take ownership and ship features, bug fixes, and improvements with support from other team members when needed. Role holder gains an understanding of the E2E landscape and support testing and rollout of new products and asset classes.

Business analyst represents team and provides support, knowledge and team capabilities to projects and initiatives outside our squad. Coordination of functional and user acceptance tests as well as defect analysis is important part of the role too.

Your qualifications:

• 4+ years of work experience in securities trading organisation

• good understanding of financial product data models (transactions, positions, security master) and products such as bonds, equities, derivatives etc.

• data oriented and data savvy with good command of SQL

• strong communication skills with excellent documentation & facilitation skills

• Great standout colleague with a ‘can do’ approach and curiosity about learning

• High degree of flexibility, independent and proactive working style

Nice-to-have:

• solid grasp of any market data golden copy system (Markit EDM, Asset Control, GAIN)

• experience with business intelligence tools like PowerBI, Tableau
