About the Role

As the Product Owner for External Publishing, you will work with a Squad consisting of highly skilled and experienced experts in the field of designing, delivering and operating digital solutions (internal and external). Embedded in the Work Environment & Engagement (WEE) Product Area which is part of Operations Digital Product Delivery (Ops DPD), you will coordinate closely with your Product Area Lead and key stakeholders to stay aligned on business strategic goals and make sure your Squad is progressing and delivering against them. You represent the voice of the customer, whether internal or external, and make sure that Squad members understand customer needs and preferences. To get this work done, you maintain and prioritize the backlog of user stories in line with the product strategy which your Squad members will use to inform their work. Through your passion for the product and maximizing value-creation for the product's customers, you challenge and inspire the Squad to fully leverage DevSecOps practises, accelerate time-to-market and cultivate a mindset of innovation and operational excellence.

Your main responsibilities:
-In collaboration with the Product Area Lead and business stakeholders, develop the squads’ mission, the product strategy as well as a viable product development roadmap.
-Continuously review business needs with your stakeholders from the Communications department, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables to maximize the product value.
-Set overall vision to direct, inform and prioritize the order of work and maximize value within constraints of resource, strategy and compliance, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
-Co-create, prioritize and communicate product roadmaps and high-level squad backlogs.
-Participate in and contribute to regular scrum events to ensure a solid understanding of the product vision and goals, share priorities, clarify open points, support the implementation of improvements. Ensure voice of the customer is heard and focused on by the squad.
-Ensure end-to-end launch and delivery of (changes to) products and solutions and accept the completion of work throughout the sprint.
-Support the squad to deliver on budget, to clear scope, with clear guidance on timelines and with clear acceptance criteria. Define and track product OKRs to measure product value generation as well as Squad and customer satisfaction.
-Forecast, communicate and mitigate risks/impediments. Work closely with Chapter Leads and Scrum Masters to remove impediments which prevent the team to deliver and excel.
-Balance & manage technical debt to continuously reduce incident volume, improve technical stability, increase maintainability and strengthen the processes and solutions in use.
-Ensure cooperation between Squads and manage interdependencies.
-Actively manage relationships with third-party solution providers. Drive escalations with vendor management team, understand and influence the third-party product roadmap.
-Take ownership of critical incidents & high visibility requests and proactively drive resolutions.
-Incubate and commercialize innovative solutions, using data and validation techniques, incl. demo, usability testing, A/B testing to prove hypothesis.
-Forecast and track costs, including infrastructure and cloud consumption, licenses, support costs as well as the change capacity allocated to your product.

About the Team

The external Publishing Squad provides client facing services and offers engaging digital experiences. The Squad builds and maintains state-of-the-art external corporate publishing solutions to efficiently communicate in line with the Swiss Re brand and communisations strategy to clients and internal stakeholders. For this they put the end user into focus, leverage Swiss Re's strategic solutions and enable with integrations into other solutions to foster efficient client relationships.

Together with strategic partners, providing design and solution development support, the Squad operates and extends the capabilities of the Magnolia Content Management System which is provides as a SaaS service and manages all interfaces and dependencies into marketing and 3rd-party systems, such as MS Dynamics, Social Media, Analytics and coordinate the baseline needs of web systems such as the Content Delivery Network, Certificates, Domains management.

Solutions such as the Corporate Websites of Swiss Re (Swiss Re, Corporate Solutions, iptiQ, Pension Fund, Swiss Re Foundation), the Annual Reports and History website fall in the Squads responsibility. A key repetitive service is the support provided for the Quarterly and Annual Financial Results publishing.

About You

As a successful candidate for this role, you bring …
-Degree in related field or relevant experience of business domain
-Qualification as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) / Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge
-Experience in managing external publishing solutions and managing internal stakeholders from Communications
-Expertise in managing or coordinating companywide Content Management Systems, Content Delivery Networks, Domains,
-Experience in understanding and acting on customer needs
-Demonstrated expertise in Risk & Data, strong business & financial acumen & strategic mindset
-Experienced communicator both written & verbal and strong stakeholder management skills and able to influence in a servant leadership style
-Solid understanding of the Re-/Insurance industry
-Strong analytical & conceptual skills
-The ability to lead and motivate others without formal management authority and across multiple locations
-English fluency is a must
-Dedication to the Swiss Re’s new way of working through greater collaboration and breaking down of silos
