Expert System Engineer (Cloud Solutions)

About the Role:

The EDI (Enterprise Data Integration & Data Exchange) team delivers company-wide solutions offering according core capabilities and platforms in the area of data exchange, data transformation, data integration and reporting. The team covers and manages the full life cycle of according base components that can be leveraged in business applications end-to-end.

In this position as a Senior Cloud Solution Engineer, you will design, develop and engineer required functionalities and capabilities to meet clients' requirements, and help shape the future landscape and new desired target architecture for the Public Cloud. Current solutions are Informatica PowerCenter for ETL and Tableau for reporting, as well as an in-house developed data exchange and integration platform, the future solutions in Public Cloud are currently being evaluated, defined and integrated.

We are set up in agile teams and work with latest Cloud (mostly MS Azure) and vendor technologies. If you cover both, technical detail, and architecture & solution design you are the right person for us!

As one of the lead engineers in the EDI Squad, you together with the PO will be responsible for further developing offered capabilities and the platform with all its facets and processes, for engineering required products and services, and for keeping the existing solutions fit for the future.

Your main responsibilities:

• Assess current business infrastructure and develop migration roadmap to the cloud
• Work closely with other IT teams and suppliers to integrate existing application landscape into a cloud ecosystem, and help migrate (platform) solutions and applications into the Public Cloud
• Design, develop and support scalable and maintainable high-performance, value-generating cloud services and (platform) solutions for data integration & data exchange, internally and externally, that easily can be used by, integrated with and leveraged in business solutions
• Establish appropriate documentation and communication of cloud architectures/implementations
• Utilize your technical and consulting skills, your business knowledge, and expertise to effectively design and realize secure EDI solutions that meet clients' business goals and requirements
• Your tasks include driving MVPs, architecture design sessions, driving Cloud strategy and transformation plans, deployment guidance as well as workshops, and ensure secure implementations and operations
• Provide well-founded consultancy to clients for implementing integrated solutions based on use of modern EDI interfaces and APIs that utilize standards and keep with industry's best practices

Furthermore, you are committed to maintaining and maturing your deep engineering expertise, to keep up with new developments and innovations, more especially to continuously investigate and analyze new Microsoft Azure services, to share and transfer knowledge and insights in team and with interested parties within Swiss Re, and are dedicated to listen to the customers' voice and meet their expectations.
