About the role & team
Swiss Re aims at being a best-in-class analytics player in the insurance market, doing analytics at scale.
To achieve scalability an investment into standards and best practices for engineering and operations is required. We must strive to create tools that empower project teams to execute with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Thus, we must learn how to not only “do analytics as a one-off exercise” but build, deploy and run analytics models…
-efficiently,
-repeatably,
-securely,
-at scale,
-and integrated in SR’s enterprise environment.
We are looking for a student (50%) who is enthusiastic about applying data science and engineering to real-world problems as a part of our ML Engineering & Operations team. If you join us, you will be able to participate in a variety of interesting projects.
For example:
Predicting flight delay likelihood that is used to individually price more than 20 million insurance policies.
Building virtual marketplace (similar to Amazon) for insurance products.
Detect important claims from vast datasets using ML models deployed on a Spark based platform and adding capabilities such as data drift and AI explainability.
We are a diverse chapter of experts, whose members sit in various locations across the globe. What brings us all together is our passion for what we do and eagerness to learn. Apart from working on the projects for our clients, we strive to further define the ML space in SwissRe and build strategic skills of the future.
