About the role:

Are you an experienced finance or audit professional searching for an exciting, impactful project? Do you understand IFRS 17 and have a passion for process and internal controls design? Are you ready to lead the Finance & Actuarial organizations through the IFRS conversion from US GAAP? If so, then come join us and help us shape the future IFRS control environment at Swiss Re!

You would join the End to End Governance, Testing and Processes (E2E GTP) team within the IFRS Delivery programme. Your focus will be on the IFRS Risks & Controls workstream.

Responsibilities include:

• Working closely with the Processes workstream to understand to-be Finance and Actuarial processes in accordance with IFRS 17. Lead process risk assessments for the IFRS valuation (i.e. "What could go wrong?") together with BAU representatives

• Based on the process and risk assessment, work with embedded BU risk managers to identify key risk / control points and design controls which mitigate key financial reporting (ICOFR) risks

• Integrate and collaborate with Finance Governance and ORM to align control descriptions with Swiss Re standards and methodology. Process new and modified control descriptions in GRACE (IBM OpenPages)

• Develop high quality controls documentation and control evidence for use throughout the organization and for reliance by internal and external auditors

• Coach a team of internal and external staff to deliver alongside yourself and support other analysts in the risk assessment process to increase consistency and quality (i.e. as first reviewer)

• Support and/or oversee the initial testing of internal controls / ensure operating effectiveness prior to going live

About the team:

The role is in the End to End Governance, Testing and Processes (E2E GTP) team within the IFRS Delivery programme. The mission of the E2E GTP is to provide oversight to the programme and ensure a high-quality delivery of IFRS financial statements in accordance with external audit requirements and the related ICOFR control environment.

Our main objectives are:

• Implement a robust and integrated IFRS control framework

• Verify completeness and traceability of requirements at IFRS transition

• Oversee and manage E2E tests for a successful IFRS transition

• Manage relationship with GIA, ORM and KPMG

Personality requirements and skills

About you:

• Proven experience in the financial services industry with preference for internal or external audit, quality assurance over internal business and/or IT controls or operational risk background

• Solid understanding of ICOFR risks & controls (including automated controls) and the roles of internal and external auditors

• Knowledgeable in (re)insurance accounting and a good understanding of end-to-end Finance processes. IFRS 17 experience is a strong advantage

• Experience in Project Management and related methodologies, scaled agile experience or experience working with Jira is a plus

• Ability to assess multiple topics simultaneously and switch from detailed assessment to "big picture", from individual contributor to leading topics

• Independent and critical thinker, willing to challenge constructively, with a can-do attitude, curious and keen to learn

• Good presentation and writing skills, ability to work diligently and assume responsibility for your own work. Manage timelines adequately and independently

• Strong communicator with the ability to seamlessly interact with colleagues across the Programme and other functions, across locations

• Excellent English, other European languages are helpful
