The opportunity

As an Actuarial Senior Auditor in the EMEA Chapter, you will participate in various audit activities. You will engage with senior actuaries and function heads on a regular basis in reserving and underwriting, but you will be challenged to learn more about risk management, claims, technical accounting and regulatory environments. The key success capabilities required for this position are the ability to analyse, structure and assess complex activities and to hold relevant dialogues with stakeholders. This role is an opportunity to deal with themes that have organizational impact and are driving the risk culture of Swiss Re.

How you can make an impact?

- Owning audit tasks delivery within an agile audit team; your key tasks will be to assess processes and controls in scope of an audit, and to provide quality audit issues and compelling business insights to Senior Management and stakeholders.
- Challenging the audit teams to excel by acting as a behaviour role model.
- Participating in local, regional and global audits, positively impacting the other GIA Chapters and using your areas of expertise to contribute effectively to GIA's audit plan.
- Deliver audit work with limited intervention from Product Owners, Functional Audit Managers and Chapter Leads.
- Co-develop data analytics to assess control related outcomes and employ data hypotheses to test data sets in collaboration with GIA's Data team.
- Participating in Agile / SCRUM methodology ceremonies within the Chapter to promote continuous improvement and forward-looking assurance.
- Coaching members of the team on individual subject matter themes.
- Participating in GIA's initiatives and projects as opportunities arise.

Who we are looking for?

You are curious, think creatively and strategically, generate innovative ideas and deliver effectively with what can often be ambiguous requirements!

In addition, you are passionate about innovation and transformation including but not limited to data analytics.

Furthermore

- Minimum 5 years experience in P&C/L&H (Re-)insurance
- Excellent communication skills
- Team-player, focused on results and able to support the team in reaching team goals and milestones
- Strong understanding of reserving methods for (Re-)insurance business
- Understanding of IFRS 17/ US GAAP financial principles
- Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary or similar (preferred)
- Experience or awareness of different actuarial and statistical software (preferred)
- Prior experience in an audit, compliance or governance role (preferred)
- University degree (Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Finance & Accounting preferred)
