Job description, responsibilities and duties

This role supports the Global Financial Planning team in all processes and deliverables related to the execution of financial planning. You will have the opportunity to learn a lot about insurance business, and how individual products, assets and funding contribute to the overall value in the company. You will acquire in-depth technical expertise and be presented with the occasion to demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit by ‘thinking out of the box’ and will be part of the core strategy decisions.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Support the overall Corporate Solutions planning process and results - i.e. manage Corporate Solutions timelines and responsibilities in coordination with Group timelines and deliverables
- Manage and further develop the planning tool, related processes and interfaces - i.e. support business users, consolidate different plan components and coordinate with Group Planning as well as liaise with regional FP&A and legal entity teams to distribute the top down plans to lower levels of detail including regions, portfolios and other key metrics
- Engage in the establishment of the comprehensive Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) reporting framework, develop and enable consistent business performance management
- Support the improvement of the Key Performance Indicator reporting dashboard and underwriting scorecards - own the production process by closely collaborating with our partners worldwide
- Provide customized / ad-hoc performance analyses and support on projects

This is a full-time remote position where you'll work from home.

The Global FP&A team supports managing and steering Swiss Re's commercial lines primary insurer, the business unit Corporate Solutions and its regional and product management teams. We are further developing and strengthening steering capabilities to build a robust business plan supporting business growth and act as a challenger to our decision makers. Your dynamic manner supports the Head of Global Financial Planning to further improve and successfully execute on financial planning. With growing responsibility, you will be able to collaborate and partner intensively across Group Planning, Treasury, Risk Management, Asset Management and the Finance Corporate Solutions community, in order to more closely integrate and align the processes related to planning & steering.

Personality requirements and skills

- University background with primary degree in Finance or Economics
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, management reporting and/or accounting within (re)insurance markets
- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills with holistic financial thinking and ability to interpret financial data
- Capabilities in project management, process optimization and know-how in database management / programming (SQL, VBA) would be an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion to senior management
- Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of autonomy, but leveraging on and working closely with all relevant stakeholders in practice areas to deliver on clearly attributed goals and objectives is key
