This role offers a rare opportunity to combine your love for numbers with leadership talent and project work.

If you would like to oversight Real Estate Accounting for the entire Swiss Re Group globally, starting with data processing all the way to financial reporting, then keep reading.
We are looking for a strong leader to manage a team of four accountants.

The team fully participates in execution of our Real Estate investments strategy and owns the accounting process landscape, including direct interactions with internal and external partners, such as Asset Management or property managers.

The team also actively supports the Group project of transition from US GAAP to IFRS as our new Group reporting standards.

This role is a paternity leave cover under one year contract.

Main Tasks
• Leading the completion of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts for entities investing into real estate properties globally
• Owning general ledgers and approving balance sheet reconciliations
• Being actively involved in projects related to new real estate structures, sales or acquisitions
• Management and mitigation of financial reporting risks in line with internal control framework, contribution to process automation and simplification, and ownership of accounting policies
• Responsibility for coordination with external property managers and auditors
• Individual and team development, mentoring, and performance management

About the team
Our team is based in Bratislava and owns end-to-end accounting for investment properties held to generate rental income and for our own used real estate portfolio. With our expertise, we contribute to strategic projects aiming on improvements in future target operating model. We enjoy what we do and foster strong team culture.

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• You possess 6+ years of experience in accounting / financial reporting / audit with respective Accounting Qualification, ACCA or CPA
• You are an experienced Team Leader / Manager, strong coach and mentor, and you have passion to develop people
• Previous work at the Big 4 or other international accounting, reporting, or controlling environment is preferred
• Your previous experience with investment properties and fixed assets accounting under various standards is a strong advantage
• You have a strong focus on performance, goals, and risk management activities
• You have analytical mind with the ability to deliver quality output and manage details without losing sight of the big picture
• You are a self-starter who is able to navigate with ambiguity
• Your knowledge of SAP is advantage
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills
• Experience with project management is an advantage
