Job description, responsibilities and duties

Are you a change agent with a passion for working with people and teams to help them improve and deliver their best work? You will work directly to advise and oversee performance against Agile values, practices, and processes. Working with the Product Owner and CoE, Product Area and Chapter Leads, you will support the work of the Squad(s) by maintaining the backlog and facilitating Scrum ceremonies like stand ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. You will ensure team performance is monitored through the Squad(s)'s dashboard and help identify continuous improvement opportunities to help the team work better and smarter

We are hiring a Scrum Master who can lead our IT Service Continuity squad and individuals while implementing Agile frameworks, such as Scrum and Kanban. You will be expected to:

• Enable the organization’s new way of working
• Model behaviours to support the organization’s transformation
• Actively create and maintain culture within Squad(s) based on the org. & Agile leadership behaviours
• Work with Squad(s) to embed and reinforce Agile practices and behaviours
• Facilitate sprint planning, stand ups, retrospectives and other Scrum ceremonies
• Provide constructive feedback to team members to help drive Agile maturity
• Help your team leads to ensure latest work status is recorded and prioritized through backlog
• Review and manage backlog items to ensure the latest work status is captured and updated as appropriate
• Ensure work is appropriately balanced across team & that all work is captured within backlog
• Support Squad(s) to track output through dashboards and other reporting systems
• Facilitate agreement within Squad(s) to determine which metrics are applicable to track progress
• Enable Squad(s) to maintain process metrics and artefacts, ensuring accurate and transparent reporting
• Create burn-down charts to measure Squad(s) output over time
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and best practices to progress the work of the Squad(s)
• Engage with Chapter Leads to help identify and deliver against training needs to support Agile practices
• Observe and engage individual Squad members to identify opportunities to improve


About the Team

In Cognitive Service Management, we are bringing together insights from multiple sources to centralize and automate our resiliency capabilities as well as driving service governance and optimize service operation processes. The Squad for IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) is a growing multi-national team, spread currently over Slovakia, Switzerland, and India.

We develop and maintain capabilities to mitigate the risk of unavailability and to restore critical IT Services in the event of a major disruption, enabling a prioritized recovery with minimal impact to Swiss Re's business processes.

• Experience working with or in Agile teams and understanding of Agile practices
• Ability to brainstorm with team members on solutions to address challenges and roadblocks
• A minimum acumen on technical solutions and services
• Preferably with experience in IT Disaster Recovery, IT Service Continuity or similar
• A continuous improvement mind-set and dedication to uncovering better ways of working
• Ability to influence behavior without having formal organizational hierarchy
• Excellent communications and people-interaction skills
• Commitment to organization’s new way of working through greater collaboration and breaking down of siloes
