This role will have you working within a team of trusted individuals to help achieve innovation in the public and private cloud with use of automation. Building secure stable platforms with its core being self service for the business units of Swiss Re.

Database as a service squad is looking for a Database reliability engineer (DBRE), Working toward AI Ops and Self-healing platforms for cutting edge performance and availability while auto scaling to provide the best cost efficiency of the platform overtime. Daily actives working on agile story task to deliver a successful sprint.

Limited operational coverage of on duty calls, once every two months and less than team grows, only for high priority incidents. The team runs what they build, so it strives to automate every aspect of operational activities.

Nobody is perfect and meets 100% of requirements. If you however, if you meet minimum qualification criteria below and are genuinely curious about the world of multi cloud and building tools, we will be happy to meet you. You will be joining a dynamic, very dedicated, and cross-functional Database team located between Bratislava and Zürich within the Group Technology Services department.

Minimum qualifications:
- proven experience working with Oracle or Postgres databases
- experience using Azure or AWS public cloud and/or any private clouds.
- Strong analytical to Database Administrator (DBA) skills
- Commitment to quality, care for detail and solution oriented
- English language proficiency

Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Any Oracle Certifications is a plus
- Microsoft Azure Certifications is also a bonus
- Existing experience or excited for the opportunity to learn about machine learning, statistical modelling, etc
- Savvy in or curiosity about Database reliability engineering and/or chaos engineering
- Experienced in infrastructure as code is an advantage, preferred one or more of the following (PowerShell, Puppet, Golang, Terraform, API's)
