About the Role

This is an opportunity for you to join a team in the early stages of its development. We are looking for a hardworking individual, who can bring knowledge and an enthusiastic 'can do' attitude to our team. The iptiQ Division, through its Operating Entities provide access to attractive and growing primary risk pools.

We are now recruiting a Finance Specialist in the General Ledger Accounting Support team, with an accounting background, passionate about being involved in the growing business unit to support our preparation and launch of IFRS reporting.

This role will require you to embed your accounting and reporting knowhow into our legal entity accounting team and is a non-technical reporting role.

In this role you will, together with your team-mates, be responsible for successful conversion to IFRS whilst working closely with the finance transformation project involving the migration from legacy accounting system onto SAP General ledger platform and be part of the building up team´s operating model at early stage.

Key accountabilities:

- Completion of IFRS training relevant to the role
- Participation in the Group IFRS project
- Develop an understanding of the requirements to participate in the Group IFRS dry run in 2022 and participate in this
- Take on the general ledger reporting responsibilities for the entities in scope but under an IFRS basis with the ultimate goal of transitioning the full team to IFRS once appropriate. This includes:
- Prepare and post all manual journals for income statement and balance sheet including but not limited to intercompany, accruals, payroll and expenses for all valuations
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany confirmations and investigate any queries that emerge as a result
- Develop an understanding of the business and legal entities in order to support the other reporting teams in developing an understanding of what is needed to convert to IFRS
- Develop an understanding of data flow, system landscapes and system interactions impacting accounting transactions in order to assist in the finance transformation project (transition to SAP GL) and the IFRS implementation
- Support team mates on data cleansing in legacy system in order to ensure smooth transition onto SAP GL where applicable
- Provide support in acquiring supporting documents for external audit
- Follow controls and raise issues and risks that are identified through approved routes and support the resolution of these
- Maintain and develop important relationships within iptiQ and Swiss Re and serve as main contact point for all accounting queries for entities within your scope

About the Team

The Finance Accounting & Reporting iptiQ team in Bratislava is responsible for the quarterly financial closing for US GAAP, EVM and statutory valuations for our legal entities as well as converting to IFRS reporting to replace US GAAP from 2024.

We also contribute to a number of development projects. Our current challenge is the migration of our entities onto SAP and preparation for IFRS reporting, as part of a Swiss Re Group projects.

About You

• Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 3 years have been in the area of general ledger accounting
• You have a University degree with an emphasis in Accounting and/or Finance
• Good understanding of accounting systems including data entry, journal preparation, monthly reconciliations, extraction of reports and understanding of multi-valuation concept
• Ability to work within an appropriate control environment
• Global perspective and solution-oriented attitude
• You demonstrate a strong interest in new technologies - You learn how to use new tools quickly
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels within organization
• You are able to work independently as well as part of a team
