About the Team

We are an international team of business analysts and application engineers based in Slovakia and Switzerland. We look after a globally used fair valuation system supporting the business steering of our company. We liaise closely with other IT and business teams within SwissRE globally. Our team has a wide variety of technical and financial backgrounds and our excellent technical know-how is complemented by a strong team spirit striving to deliver the best solution for our customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior IT Business Analyst to join the Economic Valuations - Property & Casualty business analysis team within Swiss Re's Information Technology division.

In this role, you have the opportunity to work in the area of a fair value reporting system for non-life reinsurance business according to economic value management standards. Your responsibilities include the design, development and rollout of new components as well as regular setup activities and adoptions of the system to align with changed financial processes and requirements. You are involved in all steps of a project as well as in the processes concerning production control. You are assigned own sub-projects managing them independently in close collaboration and with our team.

Your key activities will include:

Business analysis of new requirements for new IT-solutions and change request for existing IT-solutions:

Gathering, discussing and analysing the requirements for the new solutions and system improvements in close partnership with senior colleagues and our business partners
Translating the gathered requirements into system specifications and documenting them
Working closely with our application engineers in the implementation phase and ensure the accurate understanding and implementation of the documented specifications
Developing, performing and documenting function and application tests
Documenting the solution
Independently managing your tasks and subprojects

Business support and production control :

Support financial data migrations and clean-ups together with other technical teams and business partners
Monitoring and maintenance of interfaces and data migration processes
Performing system reconciliations and data quality checks
Supporting the financial quarter closing activities

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- hold a University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, Mathematics or equivalent combination of higher professional education and work experience
have strong analytical and problem solving skills
- have well developed communication skills
have very good knowledge of Microsoft Products (MS Office, Teams, SharePoint), knowledge of SQL is a strong asset for this position
- are proficient in English, German is an asset
- have an agile mentality and are open for new tasks, willing to learn permanently
are a self-starter, independent and responsive in character and work
knowledge of accounting would be an asset
are open minded
