Swiss Re will adopt IFRS in 2024 and you have a unique and outstanding opportunity to join our team and IFRS project!

We are looking for a highly motivated individual that strengthens our AM IFRS project for impact assessment stream and help with implementation for Asset Management more broadly. You will be responsible for the end-to-end impact and implementation analysis ahead of the implementation of IFRS policies in order to support and drive Senior Management's decision making in future reporting under IFRS.

We need a specialist with a solid Finance background and an understanding of investment products, who enjoys analyzing IFRS policies, drive investigation of new processes, help in analyzing of the investment products and systems under new rules and conditions and at final stage help with reporting of IFRS figures in new systems, at the same time enjoys working with the tools like excel and other technologies like Stargate used to analyze the data.

In your role you will support impact assessment for future IFRS investment balance sheet, equity and income statement, and at the same time support various implementation topics (processes, controls, analysis and reviews) coming from new IFRS policies. Your work will evolve over the periods and will have the different focus based on project relevant deliverables, which will constantly bring new interesting opportunities for you to develop and drive. You will work closely with the AM business specialists, accountants and colleagues from associated workstreams to help us address any business contract or policy decisions and ultimately ensure a smooth transition to IFRS.

You will be part of Group Global IFRS project, where we have a collaborative environment which fosters exchange between teams and enables close interaction with the workstreams responsible for accounting policy, impact assessment, implementation, financial reporting, data model and any other business areas.

The role reports to Asset Management IFRS business area lead and works closely with the rest of Asset Management Finance functional and Global teams (e.g. Product Control, US GAAP investment reporting, Global investment accounting) who are located in various locations.

About the Team

The Asset Management Finance (AMF) team leads and facilitates all financial aspects of the Group’s investment portfolio, in particular financial planning and reporting as well as asset valuation. We also provide strategic guidance to AM including implications of accounting and reporting changes while ensuring effective control and oversight of AM legal entity matters. We are located across the Bratislava, New York, London and Zurich offices.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

You are passionate about projects and accounting topics, skilled in process understandings and potential designs with a consistent track record of delivery, you are flexible and independent to work on various deliverables coming for evolving project work on agile principles with required timelines

You have understanding of investment products

You have solid skills working with the tools and data analysis, preparation of presentations towards senior management

You are experienced in working in cross-functional and cross-organizational teams

You come with 10+ years' experience in Finance, Accounting, Asset Management or comparable fields

You had worked with IFRS, US GAAP and/or local statutory principles. Knowledge of EVM or similar economic valuation frameworks will be an advantage

You are taking personal accountability for required outcomes

You are an excellent communicator, with outstanding organizational skills and the ability to sustain a high level of work output and meet tight project deadlines

Big 4 experience and consulting experience is an advantage 

You have creative problem-solving skills and have a keen sense of pragmatism with good analytical skills

You are proficient in English - verbal and written communication
