About the Role

As Senior Financial Analyst – Internal Reinsurance you play a key role in managing the Intra-Group Reinsurance (IGR) financial processes for Corporate Solutions, including the contract set up, calculation scheduling, financial reporting and payment/settlement of the transactions. IGR is an activity where one company within Swiss Re Group insures activities of another company.

In addition, you will contribute to the maintenance and development of the IGR financial processing platform together with colleagues from Finance IT, which will involve the participation in initiatives and projects. In 2019 this will include the roll-out of the new CorFiT financial accounting and reporting system landscape.

You will interact frequently with a number of key stakeholders, including Reinsurance and Corporate Solutions embedded Finance teams, Risk Management, Auditors, Treasury and other (Finance) functions.

Working in a motivated and experienced team in a dynamic environment, you will gain insights into various aspects of Corporate Solutions' business.

Key Accountabilities
• Responsible for the accurate implementation of IGR contracts within our finance system landscape and testing thereof
• Coordinating timelines of quarterly financial production of proportional IGRs
• Production and timely submission of proportional IGR financial statements
• Review of quarterly financial production results in respect of accuracy and completeness
• Contribute to enhancing the IGR financial processing platform and assist in UATs that evolve thereof

Basic wage component (gross) and other rewards

Minimum base salary for this job from 1500 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits.

Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Background in Finance or Accounting
• Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a role relevant for this position
• Insurance or reinsurance accounting experience desirable
• Experience in working in a complex process environment required
• Experience in working in cross-functional teams
• Experienced with accounting / reporting systems required
• Knowledge of Swiss Re financial applications desirable
• Strong in administrative tasks
• Demonstrate personal accountability and dedication for area of responsibility
• Team player, good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good written and spoken skills in English
• Support the overall IGR process management
• Ad hoc support in providing expert reports and analysis to our key stakeholders
• Perform other position related tasks as instructed by IGR Team Lead

• Provide cover for roles in other teams
• Any other ad hoc tasks as required from time to time
