What does the role offer you?
This role provides you the chance to gain a deep understanding of our business and the multi-valuation and multi-dimensional reporting of a major legal entity of the Reinsurance industry leader. You will collaborate closely with experts in different functions that will support your professional and personnel development. As a member of the Carrier Reporting & Analysis Services team you will prepare and report financial information of the legal entity's branches for US-GAAP and local accounting standards to senior management as well as to tax, regulatory and other governing authorities.

Main tasks:
• Execute the quarterly close of the US-GAAP and local financial statements by monitoring the closing process and performing quality assurance activities and provide accounting guidance
• Support external audit activities and prepare requested information in connection with internal audits
• Gather and review analytical information from other teams as well as perform analytical procedures for all valuation to understand the individual branch's story line
• Provide comprehensive financial and variance analysis and business commentaries with respect to reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to management and client requirements
• Prepare on a quarterly or annually basis qualitative reporting to senior management or other internal clients on US-GAAP and local accounting standards as well as reporting to tax, regulatory and other governing authorities on local accounting standards, in particular interact with group tax & tax authority
• Ensure that we execute on high-quality, robust processes for all reporting deliverables, in line with existing Swiss Re processes and deliverables for our already well established carriers
• Contribute to improve processes and systems to ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements, and also to meet internal management expectations
• Establish a network and closely collaborate with the respective professionals across the organization

About the team

We are looking for a qualified and highly motivated Branch Controlling Professional to join our Carrier Reporting & Analysis Services team. Jointly and in close collaboration with the Carrier team in Luxembourg, the team will play a pivotal Finance role in the preparation, analysis and reporting of financial information for all valuations of one of the biggest legal entity including its branches of Swiss Re Group.

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and German - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Microsoft Excel - advanced

Personality requirements and skills

About you

We would be happy to meet you if you have the following skills:
• Excellent command of the English language and German
• University degree, preferably in finance/accounting/economics and with a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience, audit experience would be an advantage
• Knowledge and experience in the preparation of complex financial statements, ideally in the financial industry
• Experience in financial reporting focused on timely delivery and high quality of output
• US-GAAP or IFRS as well as local valuation knowledge advantage (German, UK, Italian or French GAAP would be an advantage)
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
• Strong analytical skills and holistic approach and ability to work with complex details and apply good business judgement and deliver high-quality output independently
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and on your own initiative
• Ability to make decisions within the parameters of the role and to explain the business rationale behind
• Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer focus
• Intercultural competencies and the ability to understand complex processes. Keen to learn and quickly and efficiently adapt to changes
• Highly motivated individual used to working in a highly performance driven, professional and international environment
