iptiQ EMEA L&H is a Swiss Re subsidiary established January 2016. We are looking for a talented individual, who can bring knowledge and skills with an enthusiastic 'Can do' attitude and help us stablish the Finance team in Bratislava. The team has numerous responsibilities as you would expect; day-to-day operational finance activities as well as accounting, reporting, controlling and projects/change for all iptiQ EMEA L&H Life insurance companies.

You will be the primary financial controls contact point - working closely with the Finance and IT teams, the Financial Control and Data Expert role ensures that the Financial systems content is complete and accurate. This is performed by being a central contact point in Finance with a view over all finance systems and processes. The role is key to identifying issues from control and monitoring activity, acting as initial contact point for all finance issues arising and taking responsibility for resolving issues with IT or other business units as appropriate.

You will play a key part in implementing the finance strategy and other long term improvements. Someone who is able to understand current processes, identify improvements and risks are they arise. You will need to be a positive, energetic individual who enjoys problem solving and is able to operate well under pressure to deliver results working with resources from other areas.

Your skills will allow you to support and perform quality control checks on team deliverables, and ensure that we are fully adhering to both the company's risk and control framework and audit requirements.

Main tasks/activities

1. Monitoring and documentation of controls for source systems, data flow reconciliations and ensuring issues are communicated to the wider finance team and actions are in place to resolve.
2. Responsible for ensuring that the Data required for reporting and submissions is delivered on time and to required standard
3. Assist in developing a reliable process for maintaining the source system mapping tables and FRM data structure changes, working with Reassure colleagues.
4. Day to day oversight of the Change Request (CR) process for finance requested changes to all systems (Oracle, iHub, external Third Party Administrators)
5. Creating, maintaining and promoting a professional approach to system changes, testing, Finance sign off
6. Assist in the writing, development, and validation of Business Objects reports in response to requests from Finance and the wider business that deliver end product requirements whilst identifying areas to improve the quality of MI produced
7. Liaise with IT and Finance and monitor the effective flow of information within company systems. Identify areas of improvement to business processes that can be achieved through system based changes
8. Monitor Finances EUA control, working with the Finance team and wider business to identify unsupported end user applications (EUAs) that can be replaced by supported applications driven by the iHub technology.
9. Contribute to change strategies as relevant to your role, ongoing
10. Stakeholder management for both the Life and Holding company entities across the relevant accounting valuations between system users and providers.
11. Perform quality and consistency checks on deliverables and outputs
12. Oversee Third Party Policy Administrator Data Feeds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of incoming data through to the ledger.
13. Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
14. Support audit activities and prepare requested information in connection with the external audit and other external parties, like regulators or other governmental institutions
15. Contribute and support Finance related projects, including new deals

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Personality requirements and skills

Essential Skills
1. Three or more years of work experience in the financial services industry (insurance business desirable but not essential).
2. Three or more years of work experience in a controls/audit role.
3. Proven ability to deliver Finance process improvements in a large organisation.
4. University degree in Economics, Science, Accounting or Business Administration
5. Strong communication skills - ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion
Desirable Skills
1. Experience of project management or business improvement.
2. Experience of finance system change, working closely with IT and Finance systems.
3. Qualification in Accounting and/or Audit preferable.
4. Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
5. Excellent command of the English language (German/French considered a plus)
