Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are searching for a qualified and highly motivated candidate to take on an exciting position in our Reinsurance Finance EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) department.

You will be part of our Life & Health (L&H) team, which is involved in the preparation, monitoring and commenting on our L&H financial results, helping the business to steer its performance and execute strategic tasks, as well as supporting our internal partners on all business related matters.

Work within this team offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive understanding of the financial steering and reporting of a Reinsurance industry leader. You will work in a small team of specialists in a dynamic and fast paced environment and collaborate closely with experienced colleagues that will support your professional and personnel development.

Your main tasks include:
• Preparation of our quarterly reporting packages under various accounting valuations with underlying trends / issues identified for presentation to senior management.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of L&H financial figures over the closing cycle in close collaboration within Controlling & Reporting EMEA and other relevant partners.
• Review quarterly L&H business, actively monitor closing relevant events, develop know-how and become a L&H specialist.
• Perform financial analytics and substantiation for the EMEA legal entities and the region, provide comprehensive and important business insight to the relevant partners.
• Develop data controls and reconciliations to ensure a high level of data quality. Identifying relationship between the business variables, developing quality indicators, determining pattern and trend analysis. Follow up on identified issues, collaborate with FP&A, Divisional Controlling, the Actuarial team and the Accounting & Reporting department to ensure accurate issues resolution.
• Undertake specific financial projects and ad hoc activities as required by the business.
• Find opportunities for improvements, take personal leadership to make a proposal and initiate implementation.
• Ensure accurate knowledge sharing with other team members including organizing of training process for new team members.
• Establishes strong working relationship with our key business partners and become a strong team member and point of contact.

Personality requirements and skills

• We are looking for a candidate who is University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics and with at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, passionate about timely delivery and high quality of output.
• Ability to translate complex information into effective communication to partners
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
• You have strong analytical, report writing and time-management skills.
• Ability to make decisions within the parameters of the role. Can explain the business rationale behind decisions and can demonstrate a methodical/rational process for decisions
• You are willing to learn new concepts and grow own area of responsibility.
• Strong teammate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated individual used to work in a highly performance driven, professional and international environment.
