About the role:
We are looking for a qualified and highly motivated Financial Reporting Specialist to join our Financial Controlling EMEA team which is involved in preparing, monitoring and commenting financial results, helping the business steer their financial performance and execute strategic initiatives, as well as supporting various internal partners.

You will support the Accounting & Reporting Swiss Carrier team to perform, support and coordinate activities that will facilitate the timely and efficient production of reporting packages and other deliverables that are presented to senior stakeholders. You will be working closely with colleagues in reporting teams and Finance IT to produce and review financial statements, to ensure that deadlines within your area of responsibility are met, and that the required documentation is accurate, updated and complete.

This role provides the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the financial steering and reporting of a Reinsurance industry leader. You will work in a small team of experts in a dynamic and fast paced environment and collaborate closely with experienced colleagues that will support your professional and personnel development.

Your task is to support the Accounting & Reporting Swiss Carrier team in following areas:
•Contribute to the timely and efficient production of the published quarterly Reinsurance Business Unit reports for Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd, Zurich.
•Maintain the central data repository that underpins all of the reports.
•Support the simplification and automation of standard reporting combining information sourced from different subsystems.
•Maintain proper and comprehensive process documentation and adopt them to future reporting solutions and digitization.
•Be involved in project work to further improve reporting processes and continuously adapt reports to internal and external requirements.
•Identify opportunities to improve productivity and/or simplify data validation/processes, take personal responsibility to make a proposal and to initiate implementation.
•Deputise other team members during their absences.
•Undertake specific financial projects and ad hoc activities.
•Establishes strong working relationship with your colleagues and peers in other Swiss Re locations.

About the team:
You will be a member of Financial Controlling team located in Bratislava, closely cooperating with newly created team within the EMEA Finance Accounting & Reporting department.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

•University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/reporting/economics and with 1-3 years of relevant working experience.
•You have experience in financial reporting focused on timely delivery and high quality of output.
•Accounting knowledge of IFRS or USGAAP reporting standards is an advantage
•Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
•You are willing to learn new concepts and grow own area of responsibility.
•Excellent command of the English language.
•Self-motivated and able to perform tasks independently.
