Job Description

  • Leadership of allocated procurement Category
  • Supports & deputies for Head of Category Management
  • Represents GSP-OPU in Category Councils and with Suppliers
  • Assists, Coach and supervises operational buyers in execution of tasks
  • Develops purchasing strategy for allocated procurement lots
  • Proactive management of procurement Categories & execution of project orders
  • Drives effectiveness and efficiency of operational procurement tasks
  • Participates in developing related procedures & process improvements within overall function
  • Communicates effectively with cross functional peers relating to Category Management activities
  • Ensures effectiveness and efficiency through adherence to company processes
  • Supports the department in achieving objectives
  • All other duties as reasonably requested
  • Is aware of the HSE requirements relevant to their role, and implements and complies with them


Qualifications

 

Job specific qualification

  • Graduate or FH / TH  completion
  • Solid procurement experience (technical and commercial) in International environment
  • Ideally engineering trained
  • Good social skills and reputation for integrity
  • Motivates peers and leads by example
  • Interdisciplinary project management experience
  • Good market and product knowledge
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring best outcomes
  • Capable of training specific procurement skills at lower levels
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Promotes internal and external collaboration, based on the company values
  • Experienced in use of  standard methods in order to identify complex problems and ensures implementation of suitable holistic solutions
  • Self-motivated and capable of leading multi-functional teams
  • Deputises in comparable fields

 

Competence in working methods

  • Advanced negotiation skills (Iterative Procurement & Claims management)
  • Good understanding of supply contract law (Swiss & Anglo Saxon)
  • Good knowledge of Category Management & Supplier Development processes
  • Good knowledge of Sourcing, Bidding and Category Management
  • Good knowledge of SAP (SRM & MM) and MS-Office (Excel incl. Pivot, Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge of eProcurement solutions
  • Good understanding of QA processes appropriate to Supply Markets
  • Multicultural experience
  • Multilingual with professional English (B2 – C1)
