We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to join our team as a Data Analytics Platform Developer/Engineer. This position offers a unique opportunity to work as an integral part of the international Common Data Intelligence Hub within a dynamic team based in Germany. As a key member of our central team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful operation of our international reporting platform built on Power BI in the cloud. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, administration, monitoring, cost reporting, authorization reporting, and operational support of our Power BI reporting platform, meticulously crafted on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have a background in Power BI, Azure networking, security principles, and the ability to provide support for international self-service teams. You will work in an international environment within a team that operates at the heart of our reporting operations from Germany. This team is collectively responsible for the seamless functioning of our international reporting platform, utilizing the power of Power BI in the cloud.
What will you do?
Power BI Administration:- Manage and administer Power BI Service, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
- Oversee report uploads, ensuring data integrity, and managing access permissions for various user roles.
- Develop and maintain documentation for Power BI configurations and best practices.
Azure Infrastructure:
- Implement and optimize Azure networking solutions to support the Power BI reporting platform.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure proper integration of Power BI with other Azure services.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify and implement improvements in Azure infrastructure related to Power BI.
Support and Collaboration:
- Provide support to international self service teams, assisting with any Power BI-related issues.
- Collaborate with self service teams on report development and troubleshoot as needed.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Utilize Azure monitoring tools and log analytics workspaces to proactively monitor the Power BI reporting platform.
- Develop and maintain automated alerting systems to promptly address potential issues.
- Generate comprehensive reports on platform performance, usage, authorization and costs for stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of the latest Power BI and Azure updates, implementing new features and functionalities as applicable.
- Identify areas for improvement in the Power BI reporting platform's efficiency and implement optimization strategies.
- Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes.
You will succeed if you:
- Have demonstrated hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, showcasing proficiency in report creation, dashboard development, and workspace administration.
- Have proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Power BI functionalities.
- Have experience in applying Azure security principles to safeguard data and ensure compliance.
- Have proven experience in providing exceptional support to internal teams, displaying a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Have ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and informed working environment.
- Have experience in utilizing Azure monitoring tools and log analytics workspaces to proactively monitor the Power BI reporting platform.
- Have experience in generating comprehensive and insightful reports on platform performance, usage, and costs.
- Have commitment to continuous improvement, showcasing a proactive attitude towards learning and mastering new skills.
- Have ability to adapt swiftly to changing requirements and emerging technologies in the Power BI and Azure ecosystem.
