What will you do?

Purpose

Responsible for the conceptual design, architecture and the technical solution using multiple technologies and corresponding vendors. Guarantees realization, implementation and functionality of the developed solution. The role includes consultancy for potential customer in presales period, analysis of customer demands, conversion of the requirements into a technical specification, evaluation of production costs. Additionally steers the international team of experts in order to deliver solution and to define the SLA’s specifications including the transition and transformation phase to handover solution to support/operational delivery units.

Key accountabilities

• You will be involved in the design, operation and further development of OpenStack-based services on the Open Telekom Cloud Platform in the network area in close contact with the manufacturers.
• You do not do a manual task twice, but you consistently automate using common automation frameworks.
• You further develop the physical and virtual network architecture, taking IT security aspects into account.
• You work enthusiastically and hands-on directly on the technology.
• You will work together with specialists from our team and other Deutsche Telekom teams on the technology topics of public cloud, open source and security.
• You are a trustworthy consultant for Public Cloud technology in the area of networks internally and for key customers.
• You will prepare materials for presentations and advise management on technology decisions.
• Act as key technical lead and solve and coordinate activities across related technologies/outside own team, steer international teams as participants on the projects
• Work with vendor on correcting critical product defects. Propose and interest in the future development of the product
• Develop new concepts and products including roadmaps for the future of the product, covering the applications as well as the technologies in the infrastructure considering market trends

You will succeed if you:

• Focus on modern Cloud technologies (Public Clouds, preferably OpenStack-based, Docker, Kubernetes) or excellent networking with the relevant OpenSource communities and many years of experience in OpenSource projects.
• Very good knowledge in software defined networks (eg. VLANs), routing (eg. BGP, ARP), firewalls (eg. L4, SNAT/DNAT, iptables) and physical networking (eg. DWDM, routing/switching).
• Exercised in network debugging.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux (eg. Network, logging-concepts), system tools (eg. sudo, SSH), and services (eg. LDAP, NTP).
• Very good experience with virtualization and OpenStack (specifically Neutron and other network-related service).
• Very good knowledge of the close integration of development and application operation in the Cloud especially in Automation with Ansible and Ansible Tower/AWX.
• Very good knowledge of agile development processes as well as experience in the close integration of development and application operation in the cloud (DevOps).
• Experience with modern tools for collaboration in an agile environment (e.g. GitHub, JIRA, Confluence).
• Detailed programming experience with Python and shell scripting.
• Excellent ability to assess technical solutions and to make the necessary decisions when solving them.
• Experience with common OpenSource Config-Management Tools.
• Broad and deep knowledge about state-of-the-art technologies and products.
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation for complex solutions.

Wage (gross)

From 2 500 EUR/monthWe are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2500 € /brutto.
