In March 2015 Cinema City joined British Cineworld Group which subsequently became the second biggest chain of multiplexes in Europe. Cineworld operates 205 multiplexes, having 1 886 halls in 9 countries such as Poland, Israel, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Great Britain and Ireland.
Cineworld is one of the fastest growing chains of multiplexes in Europe and operates not only standard halls, but also halls equipped with special technologies like IMAX or 4DX. For the upcoming years, Cineworld is seeking to expand further and open new cinemas with approx. 470 halls.
In Slovakia, Cinema City cinemas are being operated by Cinema City Slovakia s.r.o., which owns 3 multiplexes in Bratislava with 29 halls and 5 467 seats.
Media house New Age Advertising and distribution company Forum Film Slovakia s.r.o. are also a part of the company.
