Job description, responsibilities and duties
As a frontend engineer, you will be part of a team catering for apps for our core contract processes, working side-by-side with our business analysts, data engineers and other technology professionals. You will be fully engaged in a classic agile setup with designers, frontend and backend engineers, cloud engineers as well as product and technical owner.
In your role you are responsible for:
-Frontend engineering of new applications together with the team
-Continuous improvement and maintenance of existing applications
-Providing UI/UX solution design together with dedicated designers
-Defining/improving best practices for building, testing and deploying of applications

Our team is at the forefront of analytics for Reinsurance. We build analytical products that focus a wide range of topics from Contract Wording to Natural Catastrophes, enabling the company to accurately manage our risks.
Joining us, you will learn the technologies that are used in modern data solutions with a focus on cloud technologies and distributed systems, in a collaborative environment with colleagues from Swiss Re's international offices.

Requirements for the employee

Language skills
English - Upper intermediate (B2)
Personality requirements and skills
-3+ years of experience with Angular and/or React frameworks, ideally with focus on re-usable component build
-Familiarity with GraphQL and Back-end for Front-end (BFF) technology/concepts
-Good sense of styling principles and experience with either CSS/SCSS, JSS, HTML or styled components
-Understanding of user interface, client / server integrations concepts
-Good communication, and good command of English (knowledge of German is an asset)
-Enjoy teamwork with the ability to work responsibly, self-reliant and result-oriented
-Experience with Docker is a plus
