About the Role

Swiss Re is implementing SAP to serve as a platform for the financial closing and many related processes. Therefore, we have developed multiple applications on SAP and leveraging technologies like ABAP CDS views (SQL views), interfaces (SAP PI/PO, UC4, Power Center), SAP Analytics Cloud for BI and Planning and many others.

Your role will be responsible to function as Data Engineer, who can master SQL and design new and maintain existing interfaces.
You will be able to navigate Business owners meeting their desired goals by finding the most appropriate technical solution. You will be in active communication with our colleagues from the Business, trying to apply Design Thinking approach.
Most likely you will not be familiar with all of the technologies which we are using, however the team is very encouraging during the learning process of our motivated newcomers.

About the team

To facilitate the implementation, an Agile approach is being utilized with multiple sprint teams. The Data Engineer role will be a member of a sprint team with the following responsibilities:
-Design, maintain and enhance interfaces
-Perform root cause analysis on identified defects and resolve accordingly
-Support documentation to be up to date
-Write technical specifications and support the configuration Cost area and developed applications based on the requirements
-Become proficient in the knowledge of the cost landscape functionality and its operation
-Closely cooperate with other developers, analysts and business to deliver complex solutions
-Execute functional testing of the system to ensure all requirements are implemented accurately

Key Accountabilities:
-Understand business requirements of stakeholders, design and implement the solution by cooperating with users and application developers
-Become trusted expert on interfaces owned by squad and the technical framework surrounding SwissRe's implementation
-Perform state of the art IT business analysis and trying to find out the root cause of technical/data quality issues

About You

-Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field
-Minimum of 3 years equivalent IT business analysis or requirements engineering experience required
-Strong understanding of integration processes, mappings ( Power Center, UC4 or similar)
-Experience with databases and querying languages (SQL, CDS Views)
-Understanding agile concepts and methodologies

Nice to have:

-Previous reporting and reconciliation project work
-UML
-Interest in automatic testing (TOSCA)
-Experience with SAP BW, S/4HANA preferred
-SAP Certifications and/or Data Warehousing designations is a nice to have
