Job description, responsibilities and duties

Do you have experience with data analysis in an insurance company and are you ready for a new step in your career? If yes, this role might be the right fit for you!

About the team

L&H Solutions is a product company within Swiss Re that helps insurers worldwide to improve their L&H Insurance business. Our flagship product, Magnum, is a market leading software for automated underwriting. Magnum caters to a steadily growing client base with dedicated teams from the Americas to Europe and Asia.

About the role

We are looking for a creative problem solver and analytical mind who preferably has knowledge of L&H underwriting and related data. In this role, you will enable data-led innovation and help our clients make their automated and manual underwriting process faster, more efficient, and more accurate.

With your business-centric data skills, you will test your underwriting hypotheses by analysing our clients data collected from consumers during the insurance application interview process. You will turn your ideas into reality. The outcome of your work can be one-off insights fostering our professional service offering, new dashboards in our analytics solution, new AI capabilities or even totally new data-driven solutions.

This role will work closely with the global Solutions teams as well as experienced Underwriters.

Key responsibilities:

• Build a strategy on how to make more sense out of Life & Health insurance data to gain greater insights and suggest improvements to the automated process.
• Proactively and independently identify ideas for new data insights and data-driven innovation. For example, what combination of data points could yield new insights and where could we see patterns in the data? How can we help clients better achieve their objectives, such as growing their automation?
• Apply your analytical skills to test your ideas with data and support the regional teams in crafting data insights that we can present back to our clients.
• To support the data strategy, you help the wider Magnum team to become more data-centric by convincing them of the value of data and move from a reporting approach to a data analytics mentality.

You should demonstrate a true interest in understanding the information available, mining the data and looking for answers and patterns that do not always jump out! Knowing what the data tell us, not just producing it.
