Job description, responsibilities and duties

The CorFiT project team is searching for a colleague who will help develop a target-operating model for data governance and will participate in maintaining it going forward. In this role, you will liaise with Finance, Actuarial and IT to identify and resolve data quality issues throughout our new finance system landscape. You will work with the business to understand data quality requirements and work with IT to identify rules and dashboards that enable high quality data in the Finance landscape. After the rules, reports, and resolution processes are established, you will be expected to support the maintenance of these going forward.

In this role you should expect to:
- Work directly with Finance, Actuarial, and IT teams
- Understand data and data quality requirements using business terminology
- Work directly with IT to represent the business needs related to data quality reporting and error resolution in the new finance system landscape
- Assist in developing wing to wing data governance processes including proper internal control processes and workflow requirements
- Coordinate the interim change management process for critical changeable attributes to be followed during the Project
- Liaise with various other Data Governance teams across Swiss Re (i.e. CorSo BU Data Governance, Finance Data Governance, and others) and represent Finance CorSo's interests by staying informed, actively participating in meetings, and managing change requests
- Maintain and enhance the Finance CorSo data dictionary and align it with data dictionaries from other data governance teams
- Create and manage data mapping tables
- Support rollout as needing by providing subject matter expertise during training and change management activities
- Support future finance requirements related to data governance
- Work in a fast paced project environment
- Some travel required (including overseas)

Finance Corporate Solutions aspires to become a value-added partner to the Corporate Solutions community and the broader Swiss Re community. One step towards this is to enable our finance teams with processes and technology that are fit-for-purpose and cost effective. This role will support the multi-year initiative to substantially improve the way Finance CorSo works by replacing the existing finance system landscape with a global solution and by implementing best practice processes.

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• prior experience in working with systems and system data is essential
• higher education or University degree, focus on Finance or IT subject areas a plus
• insurance experience an asset, especially global direct/primary insurance providers and the related data requirements
• characterized as a logical thinker
• comfortable handling details and high volumes of information
• experience in and acumen for data governance
• strong communication skills
• able to liaise with all hierarchies across different functions and locations
• strong team player and interpersonal skills
• proactive and entrepreneurial thinker
• ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• experience using advanced Excel, or advanced Access a plus
• fluent in English, additional languages such as German, Portuguese, Spanish or Chinese would be an asset

NOTE: This is a position within a finance department and not within an IT department. Technical design and development skills are not applicable for this position.
