Job description, responsibilities and duties

As the member of the Non-Technical accounting team, you will assist the team manager in the accurate processing and reporting of non policy holder accounting entries such as accounts payable, cash management and intercompany transactions. This will involve having contact with other group teams and individuals across iptiQ to run and deliver operational processes, to the highest quality and in accordance to deadlines, and the applicable control frameworks.

Further, you ensure compliance your work on Non-Technical processes follows the necessary risk and control framework and audit requirements across as advised by your line manager. It will assist if you

• Group Finance and iptiQ Financial Reporting Luxembourg
• iptiQ Operations
• TPA's and Distribution partners

Main tasks:
1. Accurate delivery of processes to help manage daily cash payments and receipts, including bank reconciliations and payable/receivable matching.
2. Accurate delivery of processes to help manage accounts payable, being responsible for gaining approvals for all payments in line with group policy.
3. Accurate delivery of processes to help manage intercompany payment verification, payment and reconciliation processes.
4. Demonstrate a customer service mentality to stakeholders within iptiQ payment and cash management processes, escalating issues quickly where applicable.
5. Involvement in the efficient delivery of iptiQ employee expenses and the intercompany recharge process.
6. Assist preparation of timely and accurate data for internal and external reporting
7. Ensure personal compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements as document in the role process documentation.
8. Support audit activities and prepare requested information in connection with the external audit and other external parties, like regulators or other governmental institutions
9. Contribute and support Finance related projects
10. Seek to support your team manager, by continuously looking for ways to improve the current processes and means of delivery.

About the team

iptiQ EMEA is implementing a new Finance Operations team in Q2 2017 that will be based in Bratislava. iptiQ EMEA is an operating entity within the Life Capital BU created 1 Jan 2016 to drive Swiss Re's "direct to consumer" propositions.

The Finance team will have numerous responsibilities for day-to-day operational finance activities as well as accounting, reporting, analytics and commentaries according to accounting policies for Group, Local Branch & Entities, Economic, and Solvency II valuation principles for iptiQ Life SA and iptiQ Holdings Ltd where relevant.

The need for this team is driven by the current and planned rapid growth of the business. The team will play a pivotal Finance role in supporting the wider iptiQ EMEA business through its set up and growth phase.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

1. Two or more years of work experience in the financial services industry (insurance business desirable)
2. Two or more years work experience in a relevant Accounts Payable or Cash position
3. University degree in Economics, Science, Accounting or Business Administration desirable
4. Part or full qualification in Accounting and/or Audit desirable
5. Analytical skills with holistic financial thinking
6. Strong communication skills - ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion
7. Experience in Economic valuations (EVM, Solvency II) as a plus
8. Experience in USGAAP/IFRS desirable
9. Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
10. Team player with good communication skills
11. Engaging and motivating
12. Excellent command of the English language and German/French as a plus
