Financial Analyst for Life & Health

This position in the Reinsurance Finance Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Region includes tasks and responsibilities in many areas of Financial Controlling within a highly dynamic business environment. The role covers the Life and Health Reinsurance business for the EMEA countries.

In this role, your focus will be to support the Zurich, London and Munich based teams in preparing the quarterly financial reporting, business volume projections and key performance indicators, for the region in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.

Main tasks:
•Prepare quarterly reporting packages under various accounting valuations with underlying trends / issues identified for presentation to senior management, including preparation of presentations
•Helping with preparation of annual Business Plan, which includes updating the volume and profitability in the planning system.
•Support preparation of the quarterly variance analysis by populating the figures for all EMEA countries
•Extract data from the financial systems, building standard reports using Microsoft software tools, organizing the figures to meet reporting requirements and reconciling the figures
•Develop quantitative data controls and reconciliations to ensure a high level of data quality. Such task includes identifying key relationship between the business variables, developing key quality indicators, figuring out pattern and trend analysis. Follow up the issues, liaise with the FP&A team, Divisional reporting team, the Actuarial team and the Accounting department to ensure proper issues resolution
•Co-ordinate on a quarterly basis the Legal Entity board report production by liaising with various members of the Client Markets and FP&A team
•Establishes strong working relationship with our key business partners and act as a strong team member
•Finds opportunities to improve productivity and/or simplify data validation/processes, take personal leadership to make a proposal and initiate implementation
•Ensure that all work is documented and audit trails maintained to a SOX standard, with appropriate evidence of review being maintained.
•Undertake specific financial projects and ad hoc activities as required by the business

You will be part of the Financial Controlling team, which is involved in the preparation, monitoring and commenting on financial results, helping the business steer its financial performance and execute strategic initiatives, as well as supporting various internal partners.
