Job description, responsibilities and duties

In this role, you will work as Risk & Controls Analyst in Standards and Governance within Finance Reinsurance. The team supports the Finance Reinsurance Division in reviewing their operational risks and helps to establish effective mitigating controls and process documentations. The team is having a great exposure to the CFOs of Swiss Re globally.

Main tasks:
• You will be supporting the improvement of the Reinsurance Finance internal control framework and risk indicator
• You will improve the monitoring of Financial Reporting Risk (FRR) for US GAAP, EVM and Statutory Reporting within the Reinsurance Business Unit
• You will make recommendations on strengthening the controls of reviewed processes
• You will provide support to Finance Reinsurance in internal and external audit matters
• You will monitor Finance Reinsurance open issues to ensure timely resolution and closure
• You will have a responsibility for the updated process documentation within our business unit
• You will coordinate the quarterly Risk and Control Self-Assessment process and Internal Control over Finance Reporting (ICoFR) certification process
• You will be supporting the Account Ownership reporting process
• Any ad-hoc task as instructed by manager

About the team:
We are a small team of 3 people in Bratislava with manager based in Bratislava and Zurich. We liaises with various units within Swiss Re globally, Operation Risk Management, Internal and External Audit.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• University degree (or equivalent) ideally in Finance or Business Administration
• Min. 3 years' experience in an audit, finance, operational risk management or related areas preferred
• Fluency in English (both speaking and writing).
• Excellent teammate with strong communication, social and analytical skills
• Desire to build up knowledge spanning various disciplines
• Ability to handle both conceptual and practical issues
• Good social and communication skills
