Job description, responsibilities and duties

Swiss Re is seeking a business analyst willing to join the Business Analysis (BA) team of the Data Warehouse Solutions unit. In this role the position holder will be part of an international team and will be involved in activities dealing with information analysis, integration and exploitation.
The successful candidate has a strong interest in learning or very good knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) and/or Life & Health (L&H) (re)insurance business. She/he is willing to build up knowledge of Swiss Re information landscape and to become an expert in understanding and identifying the data needed by the Business community at large.
The business analyst will work in a team of highly qualified and experienced information engineers and business analysts, in charge of data integration and exploitation for P&C and L&H direct insurance and reinsurance businesses. She/he will support our unit in the process of translating raw data into reliable and valuable business information. The tasks that will be assigned to you will include:
- Gather and analyze information requirements, understanding the business issues and challenges of our clients,
- Gather and analyze data sourcing requirements, identifying the integration issues of our data providers,
- Elaborate and present data integration and exploitation processes (e.g. high level concepts and detailed specification documents),
- Support end-users in interpreting information content and in assessing data quality,
- Close teamwork, cooperation and collaboration with the data warehouse's clients and providers (business experts and technical development teams),
- Support developers during implementation,
- Business testing, support of UATs,
- Build up knowledge & expertise in P&C and L&H (re)insurance processes and related areas

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

We are looking for candidates who ful-fill all or most of the following:
- Master / Bachelor degree in relevant subject or equivalent,
- 2-3 years business analysis experience,
- Sound knowledge of SQL (and/or willingness to learn/deepen skills)
- Strong analytical skills,
- Excellent team player attributes combined with a proactive approach and a 'can do' client-oriented attitude,
- Accomplished interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to convey concepts clearly to other people and the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders,
- Curiosity and perseverance,
- Basic knowledge of (re)insurance (or strong interest/willingness to learn),
- Very good command of English written and spoken, any additional language is a plus
