Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Data Warehousing receives daily information from over 75 source systems and automatically integrates this information in our Exadata/(11g/12c) Oracle system. We deliver this information to customer data marts namely for P&C,L&H and CORSO.

You will be:
- Responsible for small monitoring and improvement projects to support operations and business. Make information deliveries transparent using available technologies to visualize
- Deputize operations people to understand improvement needs
- Act within a small team covering the US and European time zones, dedicated to CET
- Optimize daily production chain

- Monitoring the system, analyze operation issues and behavior and define small improvement initiatives
- Develop and implement defined improvements to the benefit of operation and business
- Make the health's status visible on existing platforms as MS BI, SharePoint etc.
- Support operation of the productive Data Ware House and the IT Ware House, based on Oracle/Exadata technology stack
- Understand and manage the SwissRe standard global scheduler (TWS & UC4) and the job chains.
- Participate in all other ITIL service management task as permanent service improvements, service catalogue management (SLA) and service reporting/communication etc. and drive dedicated topics as improvement projects
- Our candidate needs to understand information flow and content and how we produce our results

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- Sound understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and data models as also 3 years of practiced working experiences in comparable setups
- Strong affinity to work for service management with the mindset to serve business as good as possible
- Oracle 11g/12c, Informatica Powercenter 9.6, SVN versioning, SQL tools e.g. Toad or Benthic, UE, IBM Host, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler or UC4 or equivalent products
- Capable to run small projects to further improve and optimize operation processes
- Skills to visualize monitoring results on dashboards, cockpits etc. (MS-BI, SharePoint etc.)
- Solid understanding of enterprise scheduling concepts and systems as UC4 and TWS and how to build and maintain complex job chains
- Solid know how in MS-Windows and Office products including SharePoint (and their connectivity's to data sources)
- Flexibility to work on weekends managing deployments (2-3 times/year) or other tasks
- Result-oriented, good communication skills
- Basic knowledge of (re)-insurance will be a plus
