Job description, responsibilities and duties

Life & Health IT Senior Business Analyst is responsible for business analysis and requirements gathering, delivering technical solution specifications and business system design specific to the L&H Business Domain. The L&H Senior Business Analyst will report directly to the Head of Actuarial & ReAdmin Solutions and will be involved with end-to-end business solution development from design to delivery, solution integration, support operational incident and problem resolution and performance enhancements.

Key skills include the ability to bring ideas from concept to reality and being able to communicate effectively to all stakeholders. In this position, the position holder will join a team of business analysts with a focus on supporting initiatives in the L&H area and will be expected to collaborate with a team of developers and production support personnel. The key responsibilities would be:
- Build and maintain a trusted relationship with our internal customers
- Have a good understanding of business issues and challenges
- Rationalize and challenge requirements and processes together with the business to drive focus on high value improvements
- Capture complex business requirements and define corresponding solutions working closely with the business community
- Lead and manage business analysis and systems analysis initiatives for complex problems in Life & Health areas
- Develop business functional specifications, system design specifications and data-related artifacts
- Gain and maintain extensive knowledge of Swiss Re internal Life & Health and global Swiss Re applications and information / data
- Ensure transparency and consensus by continuous communication and active expectations management with all stakeholders
- Prepare, support and execute data conversions / migrations of business systems
- Support production incident and problem management and support production Go-Live activities
- Responsible for delivery and project management of initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into system production solution design and patterns, which enables quality, re-usability, scalability availability and maintainability in accordance with the overall Business Strategy and IT standards
- Collaborate with other teams in defining functionality, scope and time lines
- Present and communicate ideas and design to various teams for review and brainstorming
- Act as development consultant to operational team, assisting them in choosing the most appropriate technical solution for their applications and/or production issues
- Support development defect resolution and/or operational/production incident and problem solutions
- Implement long term operational requirements, design solutions and operational efficiency.

University education (Master's degree)

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Requirements

Education:
- Bachelor's degree level or equivalent in information systems, business administration, computer science or related field.
- MS is a plus.

Essential requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis and data / information modeling
- Strong customer orientation and business focus
- Experience in understanding performance issues and tuning queries
- Experience in working with high volume environment
- Knowledge of L&H Domain and/or lines of business helpful
- Create and update documentation
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Accomplished interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication in complex environments
- Ability to manage own workload; self directed
- Well-experienced in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile SCRUM methodologies
- Experienced in working with a diverse multi-locational team of internal and external professionals
- Innovation with quick work around solutions, while also working on developing optimized permanent solutions
- Diligence in managing documentation requirements.
