Job description, responsibilities and duties

You will be responsible for processing, analyzing and supporting claims activities in the assigned area, including system support in conjunction with claim process.

The claims examiner enters claims information into our systems, assesses and processes claims, monitors reserving levels and supports business teams. The employee will in addition report important claims information to the claims manager and depending on experience and expertise, may liaise with underwriters, lawyers and brokers on key claims-related issues as well. He/she is also expected to proactively pursue his/her career advancement by developing current and new areas of competence on own initiative.

- Analyze claims documents received
- Establish claims files in legacy system
- Analyze documents to determine any required adjustments
- Set up work sheets for claim manager review and approval
- Review client inquiries regarding open billing invoices, research statements from ceding companies and brokers
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of claim documents, including claim payments and claims setup, sending of acknowledgement letters, and other non-core claims processes
- Identify potential claims to be escalated and refer to appropriate personnel
- Remain abreast of company and industry changes as well as changes in internal processes and procedures
- Provide operational support as needed to various business lines, incl legal spent, processing support, reporting support, etc.
- Communicate with customers via phone and written correspondence to obtain specific claim information
- Work with the Accounting team to book corrections and assure ledger accuracy
- Involve in projects that have a link to claims administration, systems and reporting

Personality requirements and skills

- Fluency in English AND German OR French language (German/ French will be required in a near future)
- Other languages are advantage

- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
- Excellent customer focus and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers, supervisors, colleagues and /or members via phone and computer networks (e.g. interwise)
