Manager Tax

Primary Purpose:
 
* Being the manager of the EMEA Central Tax Compliance team responsible for the execution of CIT compliance agenda including calculations of income and deferred taxes under local (national) tax rules and other centralized tax related activities on EMEA level. Besides recurring CIT compliance tasks, the Tax Manager is responsible for ongoing efforts to standardize and improve tax compliance processes, involving close cooperation with various Johnson Controls’ business units across EMEA, interacting with a wide range of JC professionals with different business roles.

 
Primary Duties:
 
* Coordinate & manage the review of corporate income and deferred tax calculations and returns in accordance with legal requirements of respective countries within EMEA region
* Drive, support, standardize and optimize CIT compliance processes handled by the EMEA Central Tax Compliane team
* Advise on miscellaneous tax compliance reporting issues
* Pro-actively identify weaknesses in tax compliance processes and propose solutions
* Lead on miscellaneous ad-hoc Tax compliance projects
* Further develop international tax experience of yourself and your team
* Coordinate & manage the centralized activities falling under the responsibility of EMEA Central Tax Compliance team
* Lead and supervise Tax Specialists in the team and assure a stable organizational capacity of the entire team
* Being the main contact person for all the centralized activities within the EMEA Central Tax Compliance team
* At least 6 years of relevant tax experience required

* Fluent business English with experience of working in multinational environment, any other European language(s) are a plus

* ERP systems knowledge (including SAP and Oracle) is an advantage

* Bachelor's/ Master’s Degree in Finance or Tax

* Precision, mobility, flexibility and deadline focus are required

* Experience with international GAAP (IFRS / US GAAP) concepts

* Strong ability to set goals in consistency with company objectives and to adapt plans to changing environment

* Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, presentation and planning skills.

* Strong ability  to cooperate with people from different countries and cultural backgrounds

* Strong ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people & to lead negotiations

* Strong ability to recognize, respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency and even increase expectations
