Job description, responsibilities and duties

Become a part of our dynamic team, supporting various countries across Zurich Group. Working in this international environment, you'll have the opportunity to learn about reserving practices from all regions across the globe and engage in the everyday reserving operations of one of Europe's largest businesses.

In addition, our internal on-boarding training will allow you to learn about insurance, coding, and visualization software such as R, VBA, and Power BI. 

This job opportunity is a substitute during maternity leave, which is planned for a year, but the specified period can be extended. 

As a Reserving Analyst, your main role will be the support of the development of reporting applications used by Zurich internal customers across all Regions with the aim to make the standardised applications accessible across Zurich Group:  
  • Support the development of applications based on a set of specification using various software such as Power BI, SQL, Power Query, or VBA.
  • Support the testing and review of applications within the team and any ad-hoc requests.
  • Collect feedback and analyse it to see if there are any gaps in the applications or if there is potential for improvement of current functionalities.
  • Maintenance of current applications such as access management or  publication of new versions.
  • Run the quarterly reports and provide commentary for the results.
  • Collaborate with actuarial teams across the Group.

Personality requirements and skills

As a Reserving Analyst, your skills and experience will ideally include: 
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics or equivalent.
  • English – advanced. Other languages are a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Finance or Insurance sector.
  • Previous experience in business analysis is a plus.
  • Eagerness to learn. Previous programming experience with Python or R, Power BI, SQL, Power Query, or VBA is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Communicative, understanding the wider picture.
  • Creative, open minded and proactive approach.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work in changing environment.
