Exciting news! Zurich is moving towards modern application management, and we are on the lookout for an expert to support our journey. Our new team member will help us with software package automation, evergreening, and the rationalization of our client application portfolio. With your help, we'll be able to unify software governance for new software requests across all endpoint platforms. This role will require extensive knowledge of Flexera AdminStudio and forthcoming Microsoft Intune features. We are searching for a skilled Global Application Manager to take ownership of our Global Application Portfolio that includes overseeing governance of our Application Inventory, Software Request & Approval process, Software Packaging and Software Release processes.

As a Global Application Manager, your main responsibilities will be to: 
  • Manage Global Delivery of IT services for Digital Workplace
  • Provide Software Package Automation Service for physical and virtual Windows devices
  • Own, updates and communicates Packaging Standards utilized by internal and external teams and liaise with the external Packaging Factory
  • Own and update the Application Software Release Process
  • Own and manage the Flexera Admin Studio Tool plus Software Request Tool
  • Govern the Client Application Request and Approval processes and chairs Software Approval Board meetings
  • Implement and maintain global standards for processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Collaborate with the various countries, their platform and release teams, internal and external suppliers, with the stakeholders to ensure and drive service delivery, improvements, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with SLAs

Requirements for the employee

University education (Master's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

As a Global Application Manager, your skills and qualifications will ideally include: 

Must have:
  • 4+ years of experience in an expert IT role and within IT industry
  • Experience of software packaging, ideally with the use of Flexera AdminStudio
  • Experience with client application configurations, tools, processes, operations and with end-to-end Software Release processes
  • Good working knowledge of Device & App Management Tools such as Microsoft Intune
  • Deep understanding of the Windows application landscape
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application package issues
  • Experience of managing and querying application data including writing custom queries
  • Experience managing issues in a multi-stakeholder and outsourced business landscape
  • Ability to operate in a matrix management environment
  • Methodical, meticulous, well-organized person and keen to learn new tasks
Nice to have:
  • Specific experience with the Flexera AdminStudio Package Feed Module would be beneficial
  • Experience of working directly with Microsoft as key vendor
  • Knowledge of PowerShell may be useful
