We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the global Commercial Insurance Underwriting team.

As a Data Scientist, your main responsibilities will involve:
- Working on high impact projects with end-to-end responsibility for their success
- Generating insights from internal and external data sources, using a wide range of tools and methodologies, e.g., from building complex data pipelines to applying Semantics and/or Machine Learning
- Analyzing business problems independently and assess right technology approach of how to solve them
- Implementing proof of concepts and full-scale solutions
- Building models translating insight into action
- Presenting findings to project members and senior stakeholders
- Coordinating directly with application users globally (with particular focus on adoption)
- Experimenting with new analytical techniques and capabilities

University education (Bachelor's degree)
Language skills
English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills
As a Data Scientist, your skills and experience will ideally include:
- Can-do attitude, with a clear focus on the end product and user experience
- Passion to tackle real business problems and persistency to follow through with your recommendations
- Experience in model development; in particular, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning
- Experience in text classification, entity extraction, clustering & topic modeling
- Strong experience with R, Python, SQL, Spark/Scala
- Some experience with building pipelines on large/complex datasets
- Excellent communication skills
- Good team player
- Excellent written and spoken English, other European languages are a plus
- Experience with web-scraping is a plus
- Prior project management experience is a plus
- Prior work experience in (re)-insurance not required, but a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, in particular, Databricks, is a plus
