For Zurich’s Data and Business Intelligence (hereafter referred to as DBI) department, we are looking for a hands-on professional who possesses the passion and experience to take a leading role in our architecture team as Data anonymization expert and act as a partner for the business and delivery teams, having a key role in the design and delivery of our solutions and products.
To do this we are looking for an individual with a passion for innovative technology in the data anonymization space and who wants to work with a team of talented business architects, application architects and technical architects to design and develop the next generation of our solutions and define best practices from the Enterprise Architecture frameworks until DevOps methodology adoption.
This role is available full time.

You will take a key role in our digital transformation redefining the way we work, our solutions and platforms.
As Data anonymization expert, your main responsibilities will involve:
- Translate technology to business users, to motivate and excite them to use and apply technology
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations as a subject matter expert in data masking (including anonymization, pseudonymization, data obfuscation, encryption, look-up substitution, shuffling), in order to support the resolution of the most complex customer cases and develop precedents to improve customer service
- Scout, select, develop and prioritize new innovative technologies in the area of data anonymization, such as for example real-time data anonymization or homomorphic encryption to support federated learning with AI/ML
- Be a technical sparring partner for our data governance and compliance teams and advise on smart technical solutions to ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR)
- Drive the integration of anonymization tools and solutions to become a standard component across all of our strategic data platforms / solutions

Personality requirements and skills
As Data anonymization expert, your skills and experience will ideally include:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related and 3+ or more years of experience in applying Data Anonymization Solutions at a Fortune 500 company with global footprint
- International track record with local work experience in Europe and growth markets (e.g. Asia)
- Proven experience in data anonymization functionalities of standard tools (e.g. k-anonymity or differential privacy in SQL), as well as dedicated data anonymization solutions (such as e.g. ARX, Docbyte, Amnesia).
- Proven expertise in the following data & analytics domains: Intelligent automation, artificial intelligence and big data
- Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks (Scala would be a plus)
- Experience with Cloud environments is preferred
- Knowledgeable on innovative solutions to minimize need for data anonymization by design (e.g. federated machine learning)
- Knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles, and best practice patterns
- Experience with REST API development, NoSQL design, RDBMS design and optimizations
- Track record of delivering solutions using Agile methodologies and Dev Ops in complex environments
- Experience managing distributed teams that are accountable, reliable, and performance-oriented
- Deep appreciation for efficiency and the ability to take a pragmatic approach to product development and reliable architecture delivery
- Creative with resources and a strategic thinker
- Entrepreneurial mindset and appetite to learn
- Superb interpersonal skills, outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
