Data Engineer with Python & Spark/ SQL
Become a part of Data & Analytics Engineering team and support Zurich North American business. We provide strategic portfolio support to enable data-driven strategic decisions. Help us scale up the suite of data and analytics for our customers and leverage our capabilities to uncover claims trends and insights for underwriting.
As Data Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
• Developing production ready pipelines (using Python, PySpark, Spark SQL)
• Deploying data flows and trained Python models developed by Data Scientists to production
• Optimizing code and queries for improved performance and stability
• Performing testing and validation for data changes, production model changes, and platform upgrades
• Researching and conducting testing of new techniques and platform integration
• Providing data engineering expertise, general technical support, and platform/tool support for data scientists and analysts

As Data Engineer, your skills and experience will ideally include:
• University education (Master's degree);
• 2+ years of experience with Spark and Python or SQL;
• 2+ years of experience in Enterprise Data Engineering using Hadoop technologies, distributed compute, and metastores;
• Knowledge of data science platforms and/or cloud technologies such as Azure, Databricks, Dataiku is an advantage;
• Passion and understanding of Cloud technologies and architectures;
• English – Upper intermediate (B2 or better), spoken and written
• University education (Master's degree);
• 2+ years of experience with Spark and Python or SQL;
