Zurich is looking for a Data Scientist to join the Data & Analytics team supporting Zurich North America business.
Data & Analytics at Zurich encompass data science, analytics, dashboards and data visualizations as well as data as a business asset. We work on cutting-edge analytics models based on a variety of statistical, data mining and machine learning approaches to deliver distinctive risk insights across a broad scope of topics, to achieve ongoing financial business impact.
Our main focus is to improve underwriting decisions by quantifying the risk, identifying potential customers and prioritize based on potential profitability and improve the assignments in the claim handling process.

As a Data Scientist, you will:
• Understand business problems and structure analytical approaches to solve them
• Prepare data sets (internal and external, structured as well as unstructured) needed to test hypotheses and build models
• Generate distinctive risk insights that deliver improved business results
• Build predictive models and other analytical solutions using NLP, image recognition, GLMs, decision trees, clustering, etc. and implement them
• Monitor performance of models in production and help assess their business impact by building monitoring apps
• Work with end users and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the organization
• Commit to continuous education and personal development by sharing technical knowledge with team members and business partners
