Junior Software Developer

Do you already have some experience in software development or would you like to learn how to do it properly? Are you interested to code in a non-standard programming language - R? Insurance and Mathematics/Statistics are an environment you would be happy to work in?  

We can offer you a role where you can learn all of that! You will be a part of our development team responsible for the implementation of an in-house developed software – Zurich’s Internal Capital Model.   You will work closely with quantitative analysts in Group Risk Management located in Zurich and economic capital modelling specialists located in Bratislava.    

Your role would be to:
- Support developments, software maintenance and documentation of a rich existing code-base using an agile framework (Scrumban)
- Cooperate with other team members and stakeholders from the business and the technical side
- Provide technical support to the end users
- Enhance team standards and practices for coding and developments  

- University education (Bachelor’s degree)
- 0-3 year experience in commercial software development
- Experience in either of R / Python / Java / C
- Willingness and desire to work in R
- Understanding of capital modelling, statistics, numerical optimization is an asset
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
