Job description, responsibilities and duties

In this role, you will become part of specialist team responsible for implementation of new accounting standard IFRS17 in Zurich Group. The team works on the development of IFRS 17 group actuarial tool that will calculate all components of new financial standards.
You will be responsible for development of specifications for the external vendor of new IFRS 17 tool. These specifications explain the calculations and analysis that need to be implemented into the tool. The preparation of these specifications would require to understand IFRS 17 methodologies in collaboration with Group Actuarial team.
This position is an opportunity to get a deep insight into IFRS 17 standard and to obtain IFRS 17 experience before the reporting according to this standard becomes obligatory.

Your main responsibilities will involve:

• Specify and develop specifications for calculations within the IFRS 17 group actuarial tool required by IFRS 17 standard.
• Contribute to the development of Zurich IFRS 17 methodology paper.
• Drive the implementation of IFRS 17 tool into business units.
• Prepare the cash flow data from Prophet models used for the development and testing of tool.
• Maintain the documentation.
• Interact with a wide range of stakeholders across the whole Zurich Group and externally on IFRS17 implementation.

Your Skills and Experience

• Master in quantitative finance, mathematics or related subjects. Postgraduate degree or additional professional qualification is a plus (e.g. qualified actuary, FRM, CFA, etc.)
• Strong process and organizational skills;
• More than 3 years of relevant actuarial working experience. Experience with cash flow modelling, MCEV, Solvency II is advantage.
• Sound knowledge of life insurance business and of risk capital management theory and practice
• Advanced IT skills. Experience with Excel and VBA is necessary
• Experience in Prophet and knowledge of IFRS 17 standard is a strong plus
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
