Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
To work with the Hosted Application Development Teams for the Risk Modelling Platform by providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues. To support the specification and development of software applications and recommend application performance improvements, aligned with business requirements and accepted software development practices.
- Engage with team members in the reviews and validation of the detailed technical design for business applications to ensure the use of accepted software development practices
- Perform quality review checks on program code, test plans/results, related objects and documentation
- Analyse programs to ensure that they use computer and storage resources efficiently; recommend appropriate changes as necessary for application performance improvements - Perform impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system
- Conduct system studies, analyse and evaluate existing computerised and manual systems/procedures to improve efficiency;
- Take responsibility for the development and maintenance of technical practices such as version control, branching strategy, bug tracking, unit testing, code reviews, refactoring, automated tests and automated releases
- Ensure that the work meets installation standards, design specifications, efficiency, and accuracy Specify / recommend integration and parallel testing criteria; identify the required tests, test scenarios and test plans ensuring these cover all the business requirements
- Assists with Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting of defects.
- Research and develop techniques for converting manual operations to a computerized system (e.g. automated releases)
- Design, develop and review documentation of proposed procedures, systems and functional specifications
- Support the implementation activities

- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
